About ABG

Alameda Backyard Growers (ABG) is a network of gardeners in Alameda, California who grow their own food and donate extra fruit and vegetables to the Alameda Food Bank.  Our goal is to reach out to the community to provide information about, and increase involvement in, urban food growing. In the process, we get to know our neighbors, have fun, share information and resources, and ‘Grow community, one veggie at a time’. Participation is free and open to all residents of Alameda and the surrounding area. There are no charges for ABG-sponsored events. Gardeners of all experience levels are welcome! ABG is a volunteer-run organization supported by donations and in-kind contributions from local supporters.
