Exotic Fruit Ice Cream in the Daintree

I just got back from a trip to Australia and one of the highlights was visiting a national park where the rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef called the Daintree. On our way to the Daintree, a fabulous tip from the tourist information representative had us stop at Daintree Ice Cream Company. The draw of this place is they grow all their fruit in the orchards right there. I took pictures of all the trees because I’ve never even seen some of this fruit before especially considering my country of origin – Scotland and I’m still very excited by oranges and lemons growing on trees, hence my love of our fruit gleaning program Project Pick. Incidentally, last year we gleaned more than 2000lbs of fruit from fruit trees in Alameda. If you’re interested in getting involved and picking with us or if you have a fruit tree that needs picking – call us on 510 239 PICK or email alamedabackyardgrowers@gmail.com

Now for extra credit…can anyone identify the fruit in the first picture?
