Caring for Your Fruit Trees – Nov 9

Monday, November 9, 2015 (6:30 – 7:30PM)
Rhythmix Cultural Works, 2513 Blanding Ave, Alameda

Join us for a panel discussion on how to maintain your fruit trees.  Our experts will discuss feeding, watering, pest management and pruning.  And in case you have excess fruit, we’ll tell you about ABG’s Project Pick to help you put that excess to good use.

About Our Speakers:

  • Birgitt Evans has grown her own food on a large scale for the past 25 years, and is passionate about encouraging and educating others so they can share the benefits of fresh, healthy, homegrown food. She is an Alameda County Master Gardener, an ABG Board member and the co-owner of Pollinate Farm and Garden in Oakland.
  • Randall Lee is a working pruner, with expertise in both ornamental and fruit trees.  He is a Certified Aesthetic Pruner and is currently President of the Aesthetic Pruners Association.

Amanda Bruemmer is co-founder and President of Alameda Backyard Growers.  She heads up our Project Pick initiative, which picks excess fruit from backyard trees and donates it to the Alameda Food Bank.
