June 11, 2013 – How and Why to Compost

At our upcoming June meeting, as part of our Master Gardener series, Bob Branstrom will use an ecological approach to explain how composting works and why composting is important for gardeners. He will cover both composting and vermicomposting, and how the two kinds of composting are similar and different.  He’ll explain how to compost, what materials to use and how to adapt the process to your available time. Be sure to bring a magnifying glass if you have one, so you can look at his samples.

Bob Branstrom is a Master Composter, Alameda County Master Gardener, and author of the blog Urban Agroecology (urbanagroecology.org).

Meeting Details:  Tuesday, June 11, 2013, 6:30 – 7:30 pm, Rhythmix Cultural Works, 2513 Blanding Ave., Alameda
