Alameda: An Agricultural History

with Eric Kos, Co-Founder and Co-Publisher, Alameda Sun

Monday,  December 8, 2014 (6:30 – 7:30 PM)
Rhythmix Cultural Works, 2513 Blanding Ave, Alameda

Alameda Sun publisher and local historian Eric J. Kos will present an earthy history of Alameda in a slide presentation titled Alameda: An Agricultural History.  Compiling information from a variety of sources, Kos will discuss the widespread techniques and products of Alameda agriculture through the years. From cornering the Early Knit Pea market to the Fernside back pasture, from squatter strawberries to dairy cows wreaking havoc, come find out what Eric unearthed about Alameda’s farming past.

We’ll also have potluck holiday treats to celebrate the winter season.  Bring your favorites to share, or just your appetite!
