Join Alameda Backyard Growers for a tour of Italo’s Garden at the Alameda Boys and Girls Club (ABGC). Named for Italo Calpestri III, a local architect and ABGC Board Member who was instrumental in the funding and design of the garden, this ¼ acre urban lot is more than just a garden. It is a living, outdoor classroom where youth learn to grow and apply principles of gardening as well as culinary and life skills to practice into everyday life.

The Seed to Table Director, Gretchen Doering, has been with the garden since 2015 and will be onsite to answer questions, along with Alameda Backyard Growers volunteers..

The tour will be self-guided with social distancing requirements in place. Please wear a mask.

If you’d like to come with a friend, please sign up for two time slots as admission is good for one person only. Please do not show up more than 5 minutes prior to the time slot you’ve been assigned.

We look forward to seeing you there!
